Bangkok Highlights: Chinatown and Dazzling Temples Wat Phra Kaew (from Tour 1)Who is this tour for? This tour is for first-timers in Bangkok who want to see the main highlights and a few off-the-beaten-track sights. The perfect introduction to Bangkok, this tour takes in both the hidden world of Bangkok’s backstreets and the glittering world of its grandest temples. Your guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel and then escort you to Chinatown, where you’ll see busy markets, bustling streets and atmospheric Chinese temples. You’ll then head to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha/Grand Palace. Known as Wat Phra Kaew in Thai, this is the most stunning sight in all of Thailand. After a traditional Thai lunch, you’ll visit Wat Po, the awe-inspiring Temple of the Reclining Buddha. At the conclusion of the tour, your guide will esort you back to your hotel. If you’re staying on the river, your guide will give you the option of returning to your hotel on a river express boat or a private long-tail “James Bond boat.” This tour takes about six hours, and we recommend starting at 9:00am. For those who wish, we can provide a private car for the day, giving you the option of driving from site to site. You can walk as much or as little as you like.
