The lake has an area of 0.6 km² and lies at 220 m above sea level. Its average depth is about 3 m. The lake is private property and has never been accessible to the public until now. It is truly incredible to experience the stillness at this place and to see nothing but the untouched Mosfell heath which surrounds the lake. Especially considering that only half an hour ago, you were situated in the down town of Reykjavik! The area around the lake is characterized by swamps and grass; moss, bushes and rock gravel, but the lake itself is naturally inhabited by a great amount of brown trout which is truly a tough opponent and a pure joy to play with. Travelers will be picked up by the tour guides, and taken via boat to and from the many great fishing spots that the lake has to offer.
