Raschötz (Resciesa) - Seceda Tour

With a little help from a lift Despite the Seceda cable car, this tour requires both endurance and a solid riding technique. It may run mainly on forest paths and side streets, but the trails will put you to the test. Raschötz (Resciesa) - Seceda Tour - Directions Riders' efforts are rewarded with a trail on the sunny side of the Gardena valley running past the Puez-Geisler nature park. Having seen the Geisler group, the Sellastock, the Langkofel, the Plattkofel, the Seiser Alm and the glacier-covered peak of the Marmolada, you will be able to vividly describe the beauty of the Dolomites to your friends at home, probably accompanied by the sensation of the exhausting 900m vertical climb to the Raschötzhütte. The first descent, in part down the ski piste to the middle station of the Seceda lift, requires some sense of direction. Mountain biker hearts are then sure to start beating faster on the panoramic trail from the Seceda to the Regensburger Hütte! Please be cautious though: in the high season, there are lots of walkers around. Tour description ➊ 1280m, bottom station of the Seceda cable car in St. Ulrich, ride approx. 500m into the Annatal valley, then left onto forest path 9b ➋ slightly downhill to the road that runs to Raschötz, then continue on the road up towards Raschötz, at the junction ➌ 2020m continue uphill to the Raschötzhütte ➍ 2170m, ride back along the forest path to the junction to the Raschötz funicular and then turn left up the steep forest path (short passage where dismounting and pushing is required) until you reach the upper station of the Raschötz funicular ➎ 2090m, then ride a short distance to the Saltner Schwaige (opportunity for food) ➏ 2110m, at the hut turn right and descend (slightly rough terrain) alongside the ski piste, at the junction with the forest path ➐ turn right, then continue on the flat until the crossroads with no signs ➑ 1810m, then turn left down into the valley to the middle station of the Seceda cable car ➒ 1750m, descend on path 8, then take the cable car to the top ➓ 2420m, (refer to the operating time), cross path no. 1 towards the Trojerhütte, then ride along no. 2b to the Pieralongiahütte ⓫ 2280m, continue to the top station of the Col Raiser cable car ⓬ 2110m, then ride downhill on path 4 to the Regensburger Hütte ⓭ 2040m. Continue on the forest path to Pramulin, at this point cross over to the other side of the valley, then ride to the hamlet of Insom, follow the road slightly uphill, cross the forest path ⓯ on trail 32 ⓮, and ride on to the church of St. Jakob ⓰ 1580m, then up through the valley on trail 6 towards St. Ulrich until the reservoir ⓱ 1390m, then on path 9b towards Annatal until the Paulihütte ⓲ 1340m and back to the starting point.
