Powered by WP Greet Box WordPress Plugin There are dozens of ways to experience the Grand Canyon and surrounding National Park but only one truly encapsulates the grand scale and majesty – taking a helicopter tour to see the location from above. With over 4926 square kilometres, you could spend hours flying over the National Park but the highlights – the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Colorado River, and the Skywalk - are all covered on the 40-minute flight and even the option to land inside the Grand Canyon as well! Have I mentioned that I’m not a morning person? It does often seem that all good things happen in the early hours, or at least that’s what my morning-person friend said as she tried to lure me out of bed with thoughts of bacon and bircher muesli. It is something that seems to stick in my mind though. Some of the best experiences do happen in the morning – kayak trips, snorkelling with dolphins; sunrises are supposedly better than sunsets according to my friend and of course brunch, her favourite food group. I couldn’t deny mornings are magical, providing my sunglasses were fixed to my face, as I headed into the Nevada desert to watch the sunrise over the peaks and eroded dips of the mountains in the Grand Canyon National Park from the comfort of a helicopter.
